Pharmacology and mechanism of effect:
Oral administration of this extract shows a significant reduction in weight. In studies conducted on mice, it was found that hydroxyl acetic acid could inhibit serotonin absorption in the mouse cortex and acts similar to serotonin reuptake inhibitors. Therefore, it can be useful in controlling appetite and various cases of serotonin deficiency such as depression and migraine. The HCA enzyme inhibits ATP citrate lyase and thus inhibits the conversion of citrate to acetyl coenzyme A, which is the first step in the synthesis of fatty acids. The ATP citrate lyase enzyme also plays an important role in lipase decomposition when consuming a high-carbohydrate diet. In a study, the effects of HCA on food intake, body weight and weight loss were investigated and it was found that this herbal extract is very effective in suppressing appetite and weight control.
Garsinia cambodia extract suppresses intracellular fat in fat cells. This extract significantly reduces the body weight, fat accumulation, blood and liver lipids level, as well as the level of insulin and plasma leptin in high-fat diets. Research has shown that the use of Garcinia cambodia extract reduces plasma levels of lipoproteins and increases the amount of schilomicron and potentially leads to weight loss, cholesterol and triglyceride in humans without any side effects.
In addition to these, the extract has anti-diabetic, anti-cancer, anti-oxidant, antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory activity, which has been proven to be well documented and clinically proven.
